Schomp Automotive

2021 Teacher of the Year

The Schomp Automotive Group is exceedingly proud to continue to offer this Teacher of the Year program that honors the incredible educators in our Colorado community and gives back to impact an area of education that our teachers say is needed most.

The 2021 program was better than ever since we expanded from being a traditional Schomp Honda program to now include the participation of all Schomp Colorado Dealerships. This means more schools, more teachers and more prizes!

We reached out to our communities to help nominate educators who have made the biggest impact in your or your child’s life. The teacher that received the most of your votes will be awarded a three-year lease of the brand-new car of their choice* as well as $5,000 to support the cause of their choice.

This year, you threw all of your love and support behind Rangeview High School’s musical legend, Mr. James Laguana. Mr. Laguana has taught choir, student leadership, credit recovery throughout his career and was the musical director for multiple shows. He is currently the Vocal Music Director at Rangeview High School, which boasts a program of over 200 students annually.

Congratulations go out to all of our other 2021 nominees as well. We hope you’re proud knowing that thousands of students, peers and parents voted for you and the impact you’ve made on their lives. Thank you to Gonzalo Maldonado of Goldrick Elementary School, Niki Roebuck of Arapahoe High School, Donald Daniels of Chatfield Senior High School, Daniel Dixon of DCIS at Montbello and Reina Cruz of Northfield High School. We were honored to have you as a part of our program this year.

Stay tuned for future Teacher of the Year news!

Thank You, Teachers!

Schomp Automotive Teacher of the Year nominations are focused on how teachers spark a positive impact in their schools, the lives of their students, and the families with which they interact in their communities. This program is part of Schomp Spark – the identity behind the Schomp Automotive Group’s philanthropic initiative, anchored by three pillars: education, wellness and stewardship.

Giving Back to the Community

SCHOMP SPARK

Education has been important to us since Schomp Automotive was founded. SPARK supports science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, vocational education, and teaching life skills and basic adult preparation. An example of this is Schomp Honda’s participation with a scaled-down Parts and Service Shop at the Young AmeriTowne Center where young “mechanics'' learn about vehicle maintenance, expenses and revenue. The AmeriTowne program meets school district standards and benchmarks. Reaching nearly 34,100 youth per year, Young AmeriTowne offers 4th, 5th and 6th grade teachers from more than 421 schools across Colorado a fun, hands-on program to help their students learn about banking, business, economics and free enterprise.

Children’s Hospital Colorado

We believe healthy people make for healthy communities. Wellness is a part of the Schomp culture and is embraced by our ownership and employees. We support wellness initiatives in the communities where we live and work. Schomp Automotive has supported Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHC) enthusiastically for more than a quarter century. As the region’s oldest and most-respected hospital for children, Children’s Hospital Colorado is a beacon of hope and comfort for our youngest citizens. We are proud to be its partner.

Supporting Our Community

We understand that unforeseen challenges occur. Schomp Automotive is here to help, from a school supply drive for communities hit by natural disasters, raising funds to help fallen officers, or suicide prevention with area schools. When our neighboring school at STEM in Highlands Ranch was struck with a tragic school shooting, our employees teamed together to make tie-blankets & write encouraging notes to kids who were struggling. We are always here to help our community when tragedy occurs.
